Teams from the commercial and sales areas based in Europe, Latin America, the USA and Canada meet up at the Sunlight Bahia Principe Coral Playa


For the Bahia Principe Hotel & Resorts Annual Commercial Congress, we gathered together the commercial and sales teams based in Europe, Latin America, the USA and Canada. The event, which last time around was staged in La Romana, Dominican Republic, was held on this occasion at the Sunlight Bahia Principe Coral Playa hotel in the Balearic Islands, which recently completed its extensive refurbishment.

Two days packed with a range of addresses, including in particular the following:

- Encarna Piñero and Lidia Piñero kicked off the Congress. Our CEO, Encarna, gave the introductions, mentioning the period of transformation we are currently going through, with a clear commitment to digitisation (CRM and Big Data projects in parallel), sustainability, investments in the Human Resources area and internal communication projects. Meanwhile, Lidia set us some fun reflection and awareness-raising exercises about the importance of striving to ensure that guests enjoy a unique holiday experience with Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts.

- Jose Antonio Moreno spoke about all the latest developments that the Operations Department is working on to improve and highlight each of the experiences, on the basis of the new brand platform.

- Julio Pérez and Lluisa Salord told us about our achievements to date and our margins over the last few years, as well as the targets set for 2018.

- Julio Pérez spoke in his second address about the profits earned in 2017. But he also told us about all the investments and improvements to be made at the different destinations, and the corresponding budgets. As he said, the aim is to continue this approach and the investments in new openings, refurbishments, updates…, year after year.

- Juan Campins presented the e-Commerce team. Each of his team members came out one by one to share their projects with us, with the aim of increasing direct sales.

- Alba Mingo gave a twofold presentation: press and communication agencies in outbound countries (USA, Canada, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Brazil and the Dominican Republic); and the relaunch of Samaná as a destination, along with the related campaigns.

- Roberto Martín explained the online reputation strategy and gave details of the launch of campaigns at the hotels, as exemplified by the Share Your Happiness initiative, as well as the Social Media tracking project at the destination headed by Cristina Pérez (now replaced by Marina Sancho).

This edition of the Congress ended with teamwork dynamics in the Palma city centre, with the aim of exploring its attractive old town.

Encarna Piñero, CEO of the Piñero Group, gave a positive account of the gathering, emphasising that the Congress represents an excellent context within which to bring together the Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts team to reflect together on our goals and challenges for the future, so as to continue offering our guests a unique concept in hospitality, based on proximity and excellent service.

It was unquestionably an enriching get-together which we hope to repeat next year…
