MOSCOW LEISURE TRADE FAIR

September 12, 2018

A word from our colleagues in Moscow…

Eva Hausheer, Commercial Director Europe, y Majka Romel, Sales Manager Eastern Europe & Sales Manager Tenerife & Mallorca, spend a few days at the Moscow Tourism Trade Fair.

And best of all, they can tell us about it first hand:

Moscow Leisure is the trade fair with its pulse on the Russian market as we look ahead to the winter season. This year the host country is the Dominican Republic, which, following the confirmation of new routes from November this year, is in particular promoting the northern region of the country.

The big new development is the launch of a direct Moscow-Samaná flight. The Commercial Department is working closely with tour operator Pegas and the Dominican Tourism Office to promote it in the marketplace and make the venture a success. Aside from this flight, there are also two confirmed flights to Puerto Plata, and increased airline capacity to Punta Cana.

As well as the good news for the Dominican Republic, a new service also begins in October between Moscow and Jamaica.

Given these prospects for growth and the opportunity to open up Samaná and Jamaica as destinations for the Russian market, our priority is to increase Bahia Principe's presence, public profile and promotion in the country. With this aim in mind we have strong commercial agreements in place and the support of a promotional team based in Moscow, who will be hard at work over the coming months at numerous events in Russia's main cities.

At the trade fair we also address such other markets as Ukraine, where growth for the Dominican Republic is likewise expected. 2 direct flights from Kiev are scheduled to begin from November: one to Punta Cana and another to La Romana, which we are of course keeping a very close eye on in commercial and promotional terms. Majka Romel will be in Kiev, Kharkov and Donetsk next week to coordinate the promotion and public profile of Bahia Principe in Ukraine.

In short, good prospects for these markets and hard work ahead, which we are very much looking forward to.

Greetings from Moscow
