Our colleagues at the hotels organised a range of activities and competitions, while a charity market was held at head office
On 17 May, as announced, we celebrated International Recycling Day.
To mark the date a number of different activities were organised for our colleagues at the hotels, and we are delighted to be able to share them with all of you.
Sunlight Bahia Principe Tenerife
Our colleagues at the restaurants, kitchens, rooms and stalls departments made beautiful sculptures from recycled products. The entertainment team also got the hotel's guests involved, by organising activities with a recycling theme, as our colleague Nélida Palacios, Public Relations Manager, explains.
Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort
Our team in Mexico organised a recycling competition for the staff. Their sculptures made from recycled materials were put on display at the entrance to the Hacienda throughout the day.
Bahia Principe Jamaica Resort
Despite the rain the day proved a success, and both staff and guests enjoyed all the recycling activities, according to Shinae Reid-Williams, In-house Marketing / Digital Guest Experience Manager, Jamaica.
And to top things off, colleagues and 2 guests... were bold enough to parade in "recycled" clothing.
What do you think?
Bahia Principe Bavaro Resort
A range of activities were staged. These included the Reci-challenge on the beach, involving both guests and staff at the complex. The aim was to classify the materials to be recycled, placing them in each container according to their category (metal, paper and card, plastics and other rubbish).
Bahia Principe La Romana
A recycling marathon, in which our colleagues made figures from recycled materials, such as a decorative duck made from plastic bottles, or a garden of car tyres with plastic bottle flowers.
Thanks to everyone for doing your bit!
Keep it up!
Head Office in Palma de Mallorca
Rocío and Luis from Mater Misericordiae brought us recycled products made at their workshops.
A charity market was held in the reception area at head office, courtesy of Mater Misericordiae.
Founded in 1963 by the Franciscan Sisters of Mercy, their mission is to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families, by helping to fulfil their needs, giving them as dignified, full and independent a life as possible, providing the necessary support and locally available opportunities.
All the products for sale are made by their members at occupational workshops, with repurposed and recycled materials. And the results of all this effort and hard work were there for all of us to see at the market.
An initiative that proved very popular among those present.
The project will undoubtedly be repeated over the course of the year…
