2018, the year in which our commitment to sustainability in the Caribbean and Spain will be reinforced
March 6, 2018
After the good results of last year, we announced our goals for CSR, which seek to make sustainability a force for change.
We announced the main results of our 2017 CSR strategy, in which we contributed to 6 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the 10 principles of the UN World Charter. You can see the results in the video.
In the words of Antonia del Toro, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, “after the good results achieved in 2017 in the area of CSR, we want 2018 to be the year in which our commitment to sustainability, in both the Caribbean and Spain, is reinforced. One of our next goals is therefore to continue contributing actively to sustainable development by obtaining the Travelife sustainability certificate for all our hotels in the Caribbean and Tenerife. This distinction would be added to the recent renewal of the EarthCheck Silver certificate by four of our hotels in the Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort in Mexico”.
Our goals for 2018
In 2018, we will continue to implement a Corporate Social Responsibility Management model that seeks to make sustainability a force for change, bring progress to all the group’s actions and improve the dialogue with and commitment to our various interest groups. Among the actions we are considering, we should mention improving job stability and quality, implementing the principles of diversity and inclusion, consolidating the Healthy Company programme and bolstering the group’s social action plan.
